Seoul 53 Hotel Insadong（首爾仁寺洞53號酒店） ★★★

Awful hotel. Avoid this one like the plague. If you're are thinking that for the price you would only expect to sleep and shower there anyway, think again. None of the rooms have curtains so the city lights will stream into your window all night, so good luck getting that good nights sleep if you are a light sleeper. When I asked the staff about it they said they are a 'fire hazard'. So no hotels, ever, have curtains for this very reason.... right!? Oh and your evening/morning shower.... hope you like cold showers as there was literally no hot water during my overnight stay. I had no chance to question staff about this as I literally could not wait to leave the place early the next morning and there was no one at the check out desk. The other guests were incredibly loud and inconsiderate, shouting in the corridors and banging room doors etc. Also you might not be staying in Seoul 53 because they are now running another place round the corner. Lastly, the hotel will send you a message after your booking to say that you should pay in cash because of 'credit card fraud'. Then you will receive an automated message from booking.com to say your card has been 'declined' and you need to contact your bank and then the hotel to confirm your booking. I highly doubt my card was declined, due to receiving the message first from the hotel I need to pay in cash, plus my card is from a korean bank and has not once been declined. I believe this is the hotels attempt to use the booking.com system to ensure customers pay in cash and thus avoid credit card payment charges to drive down costs. I was not concerned by this as I know Seoul well and would have found somewhere else to stay easily if the booking was affected by this, however I am sure other guests would be quite unnerved by this. Infact, whilst I was checking in staff were talking to another guest to ensure them their booking was confirmed even though there card was 'declined'.

Great location near the places that we were interested in going.

There was no toiletries available in the accommodation. They only accept cash payment.

Breakfast was just boiled egg and bread with no jam! Omg We booked for 3 people and they said our room was a family room but its so tiny that we barely fit in the room with our luggages. They didn’t clean the room everyday which is required for hotel. We had to keep calling them for towels and tissues. Our sheets were dirty and asked them to change it for us and they said they only change sheets every 5 days and when it was the fifth day we clearly told the worker to change it for us and they said ok but they didn’t! So we had to call them again and slept in dirty sheets for another day. The service was horrible.

very near to subways, bus stops, historical attractions, convenience stores and lots of restaurants/eating facilities.

breakfast should be improved

The staff was really nice! A staff helped us to book a cab to go to the station. The bedroom was comfy, we love the private bathroom and the fridge. The location was also great, near convenience stores and pretty quiet environment at night.

Because the heater was on the floor, sometimes the room temperature still feel cold, especially at dawn. But it's not a big problem ^^

It is near to CU store, subway station and the room/bed was comfortable. We had very good night sleep here.

The room was bit dusty. No big towel provided, only the small one.

The location was good, staff tried to be friendly and helpful. Surrounding area has many local restaurants and small shops, if you like spicy home style food you are at proper destination.

The room was cold and the small A/C was able to heat up the small room only after one day. It was unfortunately noisy on floor, I went out 3 times in the night to tell them stop smoking and loud discussion. The breakfast room was quite dirty, only toast, sirup, boiled eggs and juice was available. We bought for second day ham, cheese and milk, it was after more enjoyable. Entire building was cold, we had to stay in common rooms in coats (was mid of March, 5-15C on street). Due to smoking, cold and breakfast it is not recommended for families with children.

I like that we can fit in 3-4 people in a room and it's really a great deal for our stay.

I didn't like that breakfast were the same every day the whole 6 days of our stay. I understand the not so much variety fact but it would be appreciated if it's a little different even every other day.

The location is good.

The cleaning service is the worst part of this hotel. They don’t clean the floors and at the time I stayed there they didn’t clean my room, they just change your towels (it is important to say that they only provide hand towels and they expect you to use them as body towels). One day it was around 9 am and they entered without knocking the door while I was still sleeping. The service is horrible. The breakfast area is always dirty they never clean the tables and oven. Even if this is a low-budget hotel I would have expected at the very least a clean place.

The location is within walking distance to subway station and insadong.

Their heater was not enough. Our room and its floor were freezing. Same goes to common area for breakfast and ironing cloth. we were also worried about sink in the bathroom as it was not cemented, could moved and seems like it could fall apart. And they only provide small towels (like face towel size).

그나마 연박 가격?의문이네요

차량 풍절음처럼 창문 틈으로 바람이 들어와서 밤새 추웠습니다. 방바닥,화장품 위,티비셋박,커피포트,머그잔,냉장고,전기코드의 의생상태가 노답!! 화장실 곰팡이,창문틀 먼지와 곰팡이,까맣게 때가 낀 베개커버와 시트(사용한 냄새가 고약,얼룩),문 열자마자 나가고 싶은 냄새..50프로정도의 취소금때문에 어쩔 수 없이 연박..ㅠㅠ 힘겹게 지내다 온듯..좁은 골목이라 주차도 불편.그 날은 풀이라 멀리 주차하고 많은 짐과 숙소로 넘 힘든 3일...

1. 뜨거운물이 잘 나왔다. 2. 난방도 잘되었다. 3. 주위에 식당들이 많이있어 식사하기가 편리했다.

1.프론트직원들이 전화를 잘받지않았다. 2.방안의 TV는 고장이나서 볼수없었다. 3. 이불이 청결하지 못한점.

깨끗하고 청결한 방달라고 했는데 반대로 방에 비누만 있고 샴푸.린스,로션등등 아무것도 없고 더러운 침대,큰 침대만 2개가 있었어요..그리고 방아이템들은 청소를 안한듯--벽이나 모든 곳이 지저분함...

손닌의 요청은 들어주지 않았어요...\제말은 절대로 한마디도 들어주지 않았음..내가 로션을 달랬나? 샴푸를 달랬나???아무것도 없어도 청결한침대만 있어도 괜찮다고 하는데...최소한의 예의라도 좀 지켜주면...개집도 아닌데 사람들이 와서 자겠나 싶어요...삼만원은 아까워요!!! 부산에는 2만원대에도 깨끗한 방이 많아요...근데 이런식으로 하시면 안되죠....혼자온다고 무시하고 예의도 없고 이러면 무서워서 가겠나요??? 혼자있다고 약하다고 사람무시하고 그러네요...모텔은 청결,깨끗한게 기본입니다.. 그게 안되면 모텔 문 닫아야지..깨끗한 방때문에 돈내고 오는거잖아요..침대 더럽고 불청결해서 병그걸립니다...모텔이 기본이 없으면 장사 안돼요!! 돈내고 더러운데 자고 싶은 사람이 어디있어요???싼데는 다 더럽나요??? 모텔 안가고 싶네요..

위치가 가장 좋았습니다

시설이 노후되어 있고, 방 청소가 청결하지 않고. 상주 직원이 외국인이다 보니 불편함이 있었습니다.

너무 더워서 잘수가 없었음.

체크인 전 고객 동의 없이 카드에서(카드 소지한 친구는 외국에서 한국 입국 전이였고, 카드 결제 가능 여부 확인한 듯. 여직원이 당당하게 한국 손님들 가끔 카드 승인이 안되어서 결제했다가 바로 취소했다고 함) 일정 금액 결제 후 취소함. 호텔 정책이라 해서 정책 보여 달라 했더니 부킹에 여쭤보라고 함. 부킹에선 고객이랑 호텔이랑 직접 얘기해보라고 하면서 호텔에서 무료 취소해준다고 그냥 네가 맘에 안 들면 취소하라는 뉘앙스 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ체크인 시 한국어 못한다던 프런트 여직원이 건물 하자 수리하는 분이 오셔서 한국어로 하니 한국어로 대답함ㅋㅋㅋ 메이드 오전 10시부터 방문 따고 들어 옴. 한두번이 아님ㅋㅋㅋ 5박 예약 했지만 2박만 머물고 짐만 두고 다른 숙소 이용 오 마이갓 This is a hell of a mess!!!!!!!!!!!

체크아웃 시간전에 들어와 고객이 투숙 도중에 수건을 교체하러들어온다.

위치만 좋음. 이게 장점인지는 모르겠지만 바로 옆에 편의점이 있음. 한국어는 못하지만 나름 친절한 카운터.

1. 더블로 예약 받고 막상 가보면 없었음. 2. 처음 안내받은 방이 사진의 방과 완전히 다름 처음 가면 A동 B동이 나눠져 있다고 B동으로 안내함(로비부터 너무 더럽고 중국인들 너무너무많아서 정신 하나도 없음. 사진의 숙소는 A동). 그러고는 사진과 전혀 다른 더러운 방으로 안내함. -> 진짜 너무 더럽고 촌스러운 벽지에 도저히 안되겠어서 A동으로 옮겨달라고 했음. 3. A동도 더러워 B동보다는 낫지만 A동도 별로임. 전등도 이상하고 이불 수건 더럽고 방음 안되고 물도 없고 세면도구도 사야됌. 최악임. A동, B동 나눠놨다고는 하지만 막상 계산할 때는 A동 B동 따로 결제함(사업자가 다름- 다른 숙소인데 같이 운영)

워낙 저렴한 가격대라 가격에 비해 꽤 괜찮았어요.

이틀째날 수건을 갖다 놓지 않아서 불편했어요.

3명방으로 빌렸지만 4명 잘 수 있는 큰방이였다 위치가 좋아서 교통이 편했다

사진과 실체방에 차이가 너무 크다 방이 약간 냄새가 나고 이불, 배게커버, 수권이 께끄하지 않는 것이 있었다 당일날 캔설 연락이 와서 결국은 숙박 할 수 있었지만 당황스러웠고 메일의 답장은 없지 전화는 안 받고 한국어 할 수 있는 분이 안 개셔서 소통이 불편했다.

생각했던 것보다는... 저렴하게 이용하긴 좋아요
